5 Vintage Kitchen Decor Pieces I'm Loving This Summer

Vintage kitchen shelf styling with antique wooden chopping boards, yellow serving tray, pink ceramic jug and collected home decor.

There’s something about summer that makes me want my kitchen to feel softer, slower, and a little more lived in.

Windows open. Strawberries on the counter. Linen tablecloths that never fully stay wrinkle-free. Everything feels a bit more casual, in the best way.

I’ve been collecting a few pieces lately that are making everyday moments feel more special, so I thought I’d share a few favourites.

1. Vintage glassware that makes water feel exciting

I swear drinks taste better in beautiful glasses.

Lately I’ve been reaching for coloured vintage glassware and delicate coupes for absolutely everything, even iced coffee. They instantly make a table feel layered and collected without trying too hard.

2. Striped linen tablecloths

Nothing makes a kitchen feel more inviting faster.

I love slightly imperfect linens that look like they’ve already lived a little life. Especially in summer, they make even the quickest lunch feel fun.

3. Fruit bowls that actually stay on display

Not every decorative object earns permanent counter space, but a good fruit bowl absolutely does.

I’ve been loving oversized ceramic bowls filled with peaches, lemons, or whatever is slowly going soft because I forgot about it for two days.

4. Mismatched ceramics

Perfect matching sets have never really been my thing.

I’d always rather a table feel collected over time than bought all at once. Different textures, slightly uneven glazing, tiny imperfections. That’s the good part.

5. Little details that make everyday routines feel nicer

A candle beside the sink. A wooden spoon that’s worn in properly (mine is a swan with a chip). A tiny lamp in the corner of the kitchen instead of harsh overhead lighting.

Those are usually the things that end up changing the feeling of a space the most.

The older I get, the more I think home isn’t about perfection, but about creating small moments you actually enjoy living inside of.
